EGGS!

As most of my non-existant viewers know, I am constantly trying to maintain my weight and ensure that I never gain. One of the hard things about maintaining weight has always been staying away from unhealthy foods, portioning meals, and getting out of the house to get your body moving.

Eggs are the one protein I look forward to. They are low calorie and extremely high quality. I only eat the whites because I am afraid of the yolks. It's a self made phobia. Well, today while shopping at Costcow, my Dad and I found some cartoned egg whites that were 99% pure egg whites with 1% natural colorings and flavors. the 1%, which I am not a part of, made the egg whites taste as if they still had the yolk in them, without the extra fat, cholesterol, or calories. I ate them for dinner to give them a test run and BOY were they good!

Before I found my new breakfast food, I went to a brunch for my brothers girlfriend. Being on a strict "I cook my own food" meal plan, I did not order anything off the menu except for a seasonal fruit cup. It was actually quite filling. What I could not believe was the amount of food everyone else ordered! It made me think back to the old days when John would have eaten all of it +some. Amazing.

Later that thought came up in conversation with Dad, and he told me that I had actually ordered correctly, and that everyone else used the graduation party as an excuse to over eat. He said that it was cultural for people in group settings to over consume, a custom dating back to the Romans. I thought it funny, because people were laughing at me and offering me more food. A cup of fresh fruit didn't seem like enough food to most, but it was more than enough for me.

Anyways, I love eggs, and as I said before they are a very good food, especially the whites. No, yolk, I don't hate you, I just don't love you.

So to my non-existant viewers, or to the actual people who may one day stumble upon my blog, I say to you this. Drink lots of water and go level up your skills. Live is a game if you have a roll2play

Daily Basis

Then and Now

Its been a long journey, and I still have a long way to go, but it's time for me to admit that I have made some very BIG changes in my life, and in order for the big changes to maintain themselves, I have to continually fight against the Me on the left and side with the Me on the right. It's hard picking sides.

A few things I try to do on a daily basis:
1. Drink LOTS of water, and ONLY water
2. Drink LOTS of water, and ONLY water
3. Excersize, even if all I do is jump'n Jacks in front of the mirror.
4. Run my dog instead of walk my dog.
5. Drink LOTS of water, and ONLY water
6. Record everything I eat, even if its a low calorie cup of tea
7. Stay away from chemicals in food.
8. Only eat it if you can identify what it is. That means NO processed grains. (This is hard because processed grains are ADDICTING.)
9. Reduce Sodium intake. It's important to eat some, but I never add salt to my foods.
10. Eat at least 3 fruits and vegetables a day. Lunch for me is just a veggie or a fruit.
11. Remove the yolks from my eggs but compensate by doubling the whites.
12. Spice my food up. I love black pepper, paprika, garlic, tumeric, cumin, thyme, etc etc.. FLAVOR!
13. If I am craving something sweet, I indulge myself, usually with peppermint tea super sweetened with stevia until it tastes like a candy cane. But if that doesn't work, I will eat what I am craving and recognize that I cheated to be extra good. (This part always messes me up because when ever I cheat I cant stop cheating. some times it takes a few weeks to get back on track, but I always do... (for now anyways.... POWER TO THE JOHN!))
14. Make it into a game! I try to make my weight loss fun. I pretend I am a wizard (but really, i am..) and I act like I am a character in a roll playing game. I even took the liberty of creating a herbalists "lab." I am always adding new vials and jars, as well as expanding my seed collection!
15. I try to get out of the house, and make it a mission to do so.
16. When I find myself unable to stop eating, I simply walk out of the house and to the park until I regain control.
17. John's fun time (not what you think.) Chose a video game and get lost in another world because stress is one of lifes constants and everyone needs a way to deal with it. For me its video games.
18. Blog about it. Blogging has really given me a chance to stop and think about what I do in a day, as well as help me plan for the future. It gives me something to look forward to.

Well, thats about it. Its a lot of things to think about and do, but if you do them, they should help... and remember. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Don't drown yourself, but set a goal to drink more than you usually do. Substitute a glass of juice or jin for a glass of water. Water on the rocks is a good mixed drink.

APPLES!
Mmmm...

Well, there you have it. A finely chopped apple ready to be devoured bit by bit, every second of its sweetness being savored as it should be. Nature's Candy.

It's been a few days since I've been battling my food cravings, a few of which have been extraordinarily hard. However, it seems that I am currently in the lead of my hormonal fluctuation because I'm currently not craving anything (maybe my taste buds are simply burnt out from before?)

Whatever the cause for my sudden lack of cravings, even if its purely mental and I'm just imaging that the craving isn't there (most likely...) , I'm very grateful that I can put that concentration aside, even if only for a short while.  I could have sworn I just heard someone yell "MAN DOWN!" Too many games.

12/10/11
It's mid day now and the weather is chilly, but I still feel like I want to try and go somewhere.. do something.. get my hands dirty, or maybe keep them clean? It all depends on what I choose to do. The power of choice... I really am a wizard!
